Relationship to the Foundation
How the Foundation Benefits the Profession
Law students trained in Manitoba, and lawyers practicing in Manitoba, benefit from Foundation funding in numerous ways. Here are a few examples:
Continuing Professional Development
The grant of 16.67% of interest revenues to the Law Society of Manitoba subsidizes the costs of providing continuing professional education to the profession and educational initiatives such as the Trust Safety Program.
Legal Clinics & Experiential Learning
The Foundation’s provides financial support to several legal clinics at University of Manitoba, Faculty of Law, that provide experiential learning opportunities for students. Students gain practical experience by providing legal assistance to underserved communities and individuals in need. This hands-on experience not only enhances their legal skills but also fosters a commitment to public service and social justice.
