Celebrating 40 Years of Advancing Access to Justice in Manitoba
For four decades, the Manitoba Law Foundation has supported programs and initiatives that strengthen access to justice in the province. As we look ahead, we remain firmly committed to strategic, innovative, and collaborative grantmaking, guided by our vision, mission, and legislative mandate.
About the Manitoba Law Foundation
The Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 1986 under The Legal Profession Act. The Foundation receives the interest on funds held in lawyers’ pooled and mixed trust accounts, maintained in the banks and credit unions of the province.
Each year, 50% of this interest revenue is granted to Legal Aid Manitoba and 16.67% is granted to The Law Society of Manitoba. The remaining interest is available to fund programs and projects in accordance with our mandate.
Who We Serve
The Manitoba Law Foundation funds programs that benefit Manitobans through legal education, legal research, legal aid services, law reform, and the development and maintenance of law libraries.
